Week 5 - Podcasts etc.

I was introduced to Photobucket about a year ago, but I never thought of it as a safety net for my photos. I guess I'll be downloading a lot in the next few weeks... I had no idea about podcasts and such. I don't know that I would create one but I certainly might like to download some...more to think about...I'm learning so much. This is great!

Week 4 - IM

I like the I'm system. You don't feel like your message is out in limbo till someone decides to check their mail box. A very useful tool. I also like the idea of looking at things simultaneously with friends and discussing via IM. The phone is good, but this is fun too.

Week 3 - Wiki

Today I learned about Wikis. What a lovely idea. I went to wikipedia to edit per my assignment and went to a subject I am knowledgeable in. I found an area I would like to edit but was unable to. The portion I wished to add information to did not allow me to edit. I will be going back in to see if I can find another area where I can perform an edit. I loved the YouTube explination of a Wiki. It was so clear and concise.

Week 2 -RSS

I am learning so much via this Learning 2.0 remix...I wasn't here for the 1st version. Anyway, RSS is interesting and I think it will make my trips to the WWW much more productive and fun. Also I like the fact that I don't have to remember "where was that site," I can just go to the reader and there it is... Can't wait for Wiki's.

Ride for the Pink

In this hectic life we often forget how generous many people are and that small things we do can make a large impact.

I was reminded of these things yesterday at the Ride for the Pink, a motorcycle run and auction, etc., to raise money for breast cancer research. I met some really nice folks, saw some old friends and saw how truly generous people can be.

The most moving moment for me was when a gentleman, who lived near the event, stopped and donated an item to be auctioned off, he had just lost his wife THAT MORNING to cancer and yet he took time out of his grief to try to help others.

He inspired me with just his small act and I hope to follow his example with a small act of my own every day... it may just inspire someone else.
